Acai Berrys (Euterpe Oleracea) are harvested from the Acai Tree, a type of palm native to the Amazon rainforest. The fruits are used in traditional healing, and are an important part of the traditional Amazonian diet.

The berries promote healthy, younger looking skin, lower cholesterol, boost energy, enhance immune system function, may aide as a weight loss product and anti-aging ingredient. The small purple berry is classified as a “Super Fruit” because it has so many beneficial compounds which benefit the body both inside and out. Packed with antioxidants, amino acids, and omega fatty acids this “Beauty Berry” has a number of unique plant chemical components found only in this purple grape like fruit.

Acai extract when applied topically to the skin has an extremely high antioxidant level, higher than the more widely recognized blueberry or pomegranate. It is effective in treating many skin conditions, and can help prevent fine lines and wrinkles, skin irritation, and inflammation, and help prevent free radicial damage to the skins supporting structures of elastin and collagen; the breakdown of such is a direct cause of skin dropping and sagging.

Vegetable Emulsifiers are derived from gentle plant-based alcohols and derivatives, this type of emulsifier contains a derivative of a fatty acid ester of Sorbitan which comes from sorbitol in berries.

We use vegetable emulsifier for combining oil and water in our airbrush tanning solutions, and our pre/post tan care body products.

Octinoxate is derived from peru balsam, cocoa and cinnamon leaves. Formerly octyl methoxcycinnamate, the new FDA name is Octinoxate.

Matrixyl 3000 is the brand name for the anti-aging ingredient superstar Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3, it is a synergistic combination of two cutting edge skin active peptides. This is the active ingredient in a number of leading anti- aging cosmetic lines. It is considered a new and improved version of the classic Matrixyl.

Laboratory studies demonstrate this ingredient is as effective at repairing sun damaged skin as retinol without the drying and peeling side effects. Improvement with human volunteers was shown in both wrinkle depth and volume, improved skin firming, reduction of skin roughness, improvement in tone and overall lifting. Matrixyl 3000 safely and gently replenishes and helps rebuild the skins structural framework, by triggering the synthesis of new collagen and other components of the skin foundation. With regular use it can slow current degradation of the skin related to aging issues.

You will find this powerhouse ingredient in some of our Airbrush Tanning Solutions, such as the Revive line. Also used in lotions and creams.

Laminaria (Laminaria Saccharina) is skin protecting seaweed whose essential oil helps attract and retain moisture on the skin. An excellent humectant and nutrient.

Found in a number of specialized commercial skincare lines to help in acne treatment, pore refining and skin anti-aging products.Used in airbrush tanning solutions and body care products as thickening agents, water-binding agents, and antioxidants.

Lactic Acid is a natural acid from sour milk.

Cleopatra and other women of beauty bathed in sour milk to maintain smooth glowing skin. This acid is a natural component of the human body, present in all major organs and tissues. It is found in dairy products such as yogurts, cheeses, butter, cream and milk.

When used in skin care products it can help deeply moisturize the skin, help repair photo-aged skin stimulate collagen production, and at proper concentrations exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin.

We use this ingredient in our Rapid Tan blend.

Iodides are compounds containing iodine, naturally occurring in plants that grow in the sea.

Applied topically, they are an excellent cleanser and refresher. An additive in skin care products to enhance skin resiliency.

Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyluronate) is a component naturally found in the joints and supporting tissues of the body. As we age the body’s production of HA slows down. This can lead to stiff joints, rough dry skin, and less plump lips.

It provides suppleness and fullness to the skin, holding 1000 times its weight in water. Individuals with high HA levels in the skin have more vibrant skin, which appears more toned, plump glowing and wrinkle free.

Beneficial foods that can help generate HA in the body are starchy root vegetables such as sweet and white potatoes, fruits such as papayas, mangos, avocados, soy milk products, and certain connective tissue meats.

Humectants are ingredients in skin or hair products that draw moisture from the air to moisturize the skin and also promotes the retention of moisture in the skin.

Glycerin, honey, sorbitol, Aloe Vera, Oatmeal, Hyaluronic Acid, Coenzyme Q10 are popular ingredients of this type utilized in our body care lines and airbrush tanning solution blends.
